Invisalign with Saskatoon Dental Group

We like that we have a great treatment like Invisalign to help our patients looking to improve their smiles. They are not replacing the need for metal braces in all instances, but are a great alternative option to consider.

The Invisalign treatment involves custom, clear aligners that fit very tightly over your teeth. These must be worn for at least 22 hours a day to be effective. They are invisible to the naked eye, which is one of the reasons that patients prefer them over traditional metal braces.

Like braces, Invisalign uses pressure to slowly manipulate bone and move your teeth. You can remove your Invisalign retainers to eat and drink what you’d like and to brush and floss.

Unlike braces where you have to visit the orthodontist regularly for adjusting, you only need to visit us about every 2 months for new trays. And often treatment with Invisalign is shorter in duration than with braces.

Regardless of what you choose, you can trust the team here at Saskatoon Dental Group to help you evaluate all options and determine a treatment plan that makes sense for you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Invisalign a permanent fix for my teeth?

Invisalign is a great option for those desiring straight teeth; providing you are very strict with the process. You must wear the aligners consistently every day during the treatment period. When that is done, it can produce excellent results.

However, after the aligner period is over, we will suggest a retainer to be worn to continue to keep your teeth straight. Our jaws move as we age and being aware of that can prevent your teeth moving back to where they were pre-Invisalign.

Is Invisalign a better option than metal braces?

Invisalign and metal braces have their pros and cons and can work in most instances. It is usually best to discuss your goals and lifestyle with your dental professional when making a decision. Invisalign needs to be removed before eating and your teeth need to be flossed and brushed before you put the clear aligners back in. That may not work for some patients.

Some patients would also benefit from a shorter treatment than with braces, again depending on their teeth and what they want to correct.
